For This Cause I Labor

He has showed you, O man, what is good.  And what does

the LORD require of you?  To act justly and to love mercy

and to walk humbly with your God.

                                                                           Micah 6:8

You, however, know all about my teaching, my way of life, my purpose, faith, patience, love, endurance, persecutions, sufferings– what kinds of things happened to me in Antioch, Iconium, and Lystra, the persecutions I endured.  Yet the Lord rescued me from all of them.

2 Timothy 3:10-11

The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure.  Who can understand it?  “I the LORD search the heart and examine the mind, to reward a man according to his conduct, according to what his deeds deserve.”

Jeremiah 17:9-10

Strengthen the feeble hands, steady the knees that give way; say to those with fearful hearts, “Be strong, do not fear; your God will come, he will come with vengeance; with divine retribution he will come to save you.”

Isaiah 35:3-4

OUR FATHER who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.  Accept my plea for strength, wisdom, and peace as I commit myself to thy service.  Help me to do justice and love mercy as I walk humbly before you as a servant of the most High God.  I present myself to you broken bread poured out wine for the singleness of purpose to be single in purpose as I labor to build your kingdom.  Sharpen my mind so that its focus is one of reckless abandonment to you and empower me so that my skills reflect a standard of Godly excellence.  For thine is the kingdom and the power, and the glory, forever and ever.

Amen.

Having been in full time ministry for over twenty years, as a dean of students at a Christian high school, director of youth and music, Associate Pastor, and Senior Pastor, I was keenly aware of the fact that as I ministered to others there was no one ministering to me.  Caleb was birthed in 1989 to “serve those  who serve”.  I was consumed with a passion to minister to men and women who were pouring out their gifts and talents to minister in the Kingdom of God.  Because of the need for teaching, counseling, consulting, and training of leaders, “For this Cause We Labor in the giving of our gifts to the Kingdom of God.

We proclaim Him, admonishing every man and teaching every man with all wisdom, so that we may present every man complete in Christ.  For this purpose also I labor, striving according to His power, which mightily works within me.
